A. As described in BMC 15.14.031(G)(1) through (G)(3), users may be required to operate at their own expense a monitoring facility to allow inspection, sampling, and flow measurements of wastewater discharge to the POTW. Each monitoring facility shall be situated in a location approved by the director.

B. There shall be ample room in or near such sampling facility to allow accurate sampling, flow measurement, and preparation of samples for analysis. The facility, sampling, and measuring equipment shall be maintained at all times in a safe and proper operating condition at the expense of the user. All monitoring facilities shall be constructed and maintained in accordance with all applicable city standards and specifications.

C. The director may require the user to install monitoring equipment as necessary. All devices used to measure wastewater flow and quality shall be calibrated annually to ensure their accuracy, or more frequently as determined by the director. Required equipment may include flow meters, pH meter, sampling equipment, and other monitoring equipment as required by the director. The user shall provide at a minimum a 24-inch diameter inspection and sampling manhole. [Ord. 2020-07-016 § 1; Ord. 2019-11-032 § 1].
