All buildings, storerooms, grain elevators, warehouses, residences, docks, or other buildings within the city shall be so constructed or repaired by the use of screens, nettings, cement, or other material or materials approved by the health officer, so as to prevent rats or other rodents from gaining entrances to such buildings, storerooms, grain elevators, warehouses, residences, docks, or other buildings; and all food products or other products for human consumption or consumption by stock, poultry, or other animals shall be so protected as to prevent rodents from gaining access thereto or coming into contact therewith. All storerooms, grain elevators, warehouses, or docks shall be provided or equipped by the owner or occupant thereof with traps or poison or other method of periodical rodent extermination approved by the health officer.
